Description: Manufactured in 1904 and subsequently embellished by Master Engraver Weldon Bledsoe with his famous cattle brand motif gained from the original master Cole Agee. Although this gun does not have the typical Bledsoe signature on it, pictures of this gun were sent to Weldon Bledsoe’s understudy, David Wade Harris and he confirmed that it was indeed a Weldon Bledsoe gun. Please take a look at his magnificent engraving work at ://dwharris/ The revolver has near full coverage cattle brand and floral scroll motif on a punch dot background. This motif was an extremely rare and highly desirable pattern developed in the late 1940s by Cole Agee that depicted all the of more prominent and historic Texas cattle brands used in the 1880s and early 1900s. The engraving on this revolver has the recognizable "101", “Running W” of the King Ranch, and many other famous Texas brands. Gun is in excellent condition for it’s age, but as with many of these older Cattle Brand guns, they have been fired and used. Nickel remains perfect, action is tight and functions perfectly and bore is strong with no signs of pitting or rust. Gun has seen very limited use and remains solid and unscarred. SOLD Handgun Caliber: .38-40 Winchester (.38 WCF) Manufacturer: Colt Model: Bisley Condition: excellent Metal Condition: 99% Bore Condition: very good |
