CIVIL WAR ERA PRUSSIAN POTSDAM MODEL 1809 /39 PERCUSSION CONVERSION BRASS MOUNTED MUSKET. 41” smoothbore .75 caliber barrel with Potsdam proofs and dated “1831” at the breech. Serial number “1688” stamped on the left side of the barrel. Tang mounted original rear sight of the conversion era. Lock plate stamped “CROWN/POTSDAM/GP”. Walnut stock with brass mounts and steel butt plate with flintlock era Prussian Regiment stamp on tang (7 3 R. 4C./40). All original and complete except the sling swivels which have been removed. Very good plus overall with the fine original metal patina and the original finish on the stock. Lock in working order and good bore. Thousands imported for use during the Civil War.
