Description:
REDUCED - This an original Pre Model 15 Smith & Wesson commonly known as the Combat Masterpiece. This was basically a K-38 but with a 4 inch instead of a 6 inch barrel. It is complete with the original gold box (not many made so S&W used a K-38 Masterpiece box and just put a label on the end of the box for Combat Masterpiece - guess it saved them $$$). Also has the original warranty card. Revolver remains in very good to excellent original condition with original diamond checkered magna grips. Small numerals '57" marked on back left grip - I'm told by an ex armorer for the AIr Force that this was an issue number for Air Force Military Police issue. Revolver is the so called 5 screw model and probably the best .38 Special revolver S&W ever made. This revolver eventually became the Model 15 in the S&W numbered series and became extremely popular for many years among police and civilians alike. Curio and Relic status.
