CIVIL WAR ORIGINAL REMINGTON U.S. MODEL 1863 ZOUAVE PERCUSSION RIFLE DATED 1863. 33” round rifled .58 caliber barrel with “1863” date. Lock plate dated “1863” and marked “REMINTON’S/ILION, N.Y.” and stamped with tiny “US” inspection stamp. All original and very good plus to fine with all the original parts and ramrod. Brass mounts with “U.S.” stamped butt plate tang. Excellent stock with the original finish and mint inspection cartouches. Even has the original spare nipple still in the patch box. Barrel with original blue and patina mix. Old deep patina on lock and bolster. Very good bore with crisp rifling and lock in working order. Nice all original example.
