Description:
Eduard Kettner, Suhl custom Mauser in 30-06 with a 24" round barrel with a full length solid rib with a quarter rib configuration and integral ramp front sight and attached sling swivel stud. One standing and two folding leaf express rear sights. Bore is as new. Built on a military Mauser 98 action with tang safety, double set triggers, and a lever release floorplate. Griffin & Howe sidemount with a Redfield 2 3/4X  scope with center dot and fine crosshairs. Floorplate and trigger guyard with 70% coverage well executed and tastefull scroll engraving. Buttplate and grip cap screws also engraved. Pistol grip buttstock of nice European Walnut with Bavarian cheekpiece and schnable forend tip. Point pattern checkering with a mullered border.  Eduard Kettner is a well known German maker. This appears to be a post-war piece likely built for a service member. It has light handling marks but appears to have never been hunted. The Griffin & Howe sidemount was likely added on arrival to the States.
