Description:
Steyr Mannlicher Model M Professional Rifle in .270 Winchester, 23.6" Barrel, Double-Set Trigger with 5-Shot Rotary Magazine. This rifle was given to my Uncle by his dear friend, actor Frank Gassman, personal friend of Director John Milius and known for his role in "The Wind and the Lion" Starring Sean Connery, Candice Bergen. Brian Keith and John Huston.
The Rifle is in 100% condition, and appears unfired except for the factory pre-shipment test. Stock is the Brown Cyclolac, the trigger guard and internals are perfect with no cracks and no wear. These rifles were produced between 1968-1970 according to the Blue Book of Gun Values.
The Rifle has the factory installed Steyr twist lock scope mounts and a PECAR (Berlin) 1 1/2 x 4 Variable Scope with enhanced lower Crosshairs, clear optics (not foggy) and functions perfectly. The scope mount screws are rough and the scope has wear marks on the tubes as this scope clearly came off of another rifle. It also has the right side adjustment knob cover missing. Otherwise the scope mounts are pristine. If you know about PECAR Scopes, they are fantastic low light scopes on par with Swarovsky and Zeiss. The scope is 80% but the rifle is 100%
The Rifle was sent to Steyr Arms in Bessemer, AL for a recall re-fit on June 11, 2021 - see documentation.
