Description:
The item for sale is a Colt 1862 Police Revolver in fine condition. This is a first year production revolver manufactured in 1861 with the rare blade front sight. In the book "The Book Of Colt Firearms" by Robert Sutherland, he states; "A few barrels will be noted with German silver blade front sights dovetailed at top of the muzzle". The original Colt blue shows little wear and has developed a pleasing plum patina. The case colors have faded, however the case hardened pattern remains. All serial numbers are matching including the wedge. The grips are nice with some wear along the bottom edges, however retaining most of the original varnish. The bore has strong lands and grooves with some pitting. The action is mechanically.tight and functions as intended. This is an antique and can be shipped directly to the buyer.
