Description:
Between 1943 and 1945 Remington Rand produced 1,086,624 M1911 A1 pistols, more than any other wartime manufacturer. Remington Rand was a merger between the Remington Standard Typewriter Company and the Rand Kardex Corporation. This Remington is stamped "United Sates Property" and "M 1911 A1 US Army" on the right frame. Left frame has "Remington Rand Inc. Syracuse NY USA". "FJA" stamp in front of left grip. Gun shows a lot of holster wear and wear to high spots. Bore is good but could use a good cleaning. Rifling is visible. Gun is complete with canvas holster, gun holster, knife (stamped "US Camillus NY") and sheath, magazine pouch, 3 magazines. Nice set for the military or Remington collector. .45 Auto
