Description:
42-1/2 inch part octagon part round Damascus barrel. Marked on the top is "Action Fitted by J & W Tolley Ltd 59 New Bond St London W". The action has a good amount of dulled case colors and some light borederline engraving. Mechanics are crisp and strong. Walnut pistol grip checkered stock is in good condition with a few light handling mars. LOP is 14 inches to the end of the grooved wood butt. Forend is good as well and has a horn tip. This is a BIG gun measuring about 60 inches overall and weighs nearly 13 pounds. A very impressive large 8 bore fowler that was no doubt made for market gunning that is still in an extremely fine state of condition compared to most of these large big bore guns which were subject to so much harsh usage back in the day. Something that you just don't see everyday!
