Description:
The item for sale is a Smith & Wesson No. 2 Old Model Revolver (No. 2 Old Army). This is a 6-shot revolver chambered in the 32 rimfire long cartridge. It features a 6" ribbed octagon barrel. This was a popular Civil War sidearm and carried by officers as a personal sidearm. However, there were no government contracts to supply this revolver to troops during the Civil War.  This was also a popular revolver in the Old West and carried by Gen. George Custer, Wild Bill Hickok and many others. The revolver offered for sale is in antique fine condition. This is a post Civil War revolver. The bore has nice lands and grooves with light pits. The pivot hinge is tight as is the action with a strong hammer and trigger.The metal retains considerable faded blue as shown in the photos. It has been fitted with attractive ivory grips in excellent condtion. Mechanically the revolver is excellent. This is an antique and can be shipped directly to the buyer. Please include $30 to cover shipping and insurance.
