Rare 1886 Carbine. Set trigger, Lyman front sight, sporting rear, letters correct. I’ve never seen a 1886 carbine with a set trigger. And it works. Bought this from Gene Autrys nephew

Doubt you’ll ever see another one. I know I’ve been collecting for over 40 years. Only one I’ve seen. And for sure won’t find one that belonged to Gene Autry.
wood has been sanded. Has some slivers missing. Finish is about gone. Bore and action is good. Set trigger works as it should. Feels like someone looses the trigger spring. Probably just to keep it from snapping. Not really a gun you just go out plinking with. Although if you’ve ever shot the 38-56 cartridge
Its a great cartridge. 38 caliber with 56 grains of black powder. I’ve taken a few deer and hogs with the cartridge.
