3rd model Winchester 1873 rifle. "The Gun that Won the West" 32-20 caliber, 24" octagonal barrel, S/N 331721B (mfg. ca1890). Blued finish, smooth straight-gripped walnut stock with crescent buttplate. Standard markings, elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sight, dovetailed front sight blade. Retains some strong traces of thinning blue mixed with a mostly smooth, gently oxidized plum brown patina. Clear markings, mechanically functional, good bore with strong rifling.
