EXTREMELY rare. 1937 Winchester Model 70 .257 Roberts Target Rifle with an INTEGRAL FRONT SIGHT RAMP! Less than 40 known to exist in any caliber with this front barrel ramp. Considering the Model 70's overall 2.5% production statistic for the 257 Roberts caliber, it is conceivable that this is a 1 or 2 of a kind rifle. S/N 5113 with matching scribed bolt. 24" Barrel with an excellent bore. Perfect mechanics. Target stamped trigger group. UNDRILLED rear receiver bridge on the beautiful carbonum blued receiver. Correct factory issued cupped scope blocks and front sight block. Overall condition is about 95-96%. There are what appear to be 2 small repairs on the buttstock as shown in the close up photos overlying probable knot holes in the wood. These are fairly well done and not too distracting, but at the same time do not quite appear to be factory level repairs which of course did occur. This is a very special piece and likely the only genuine example most will ever see in their lifetime.
