Description: Another listing brought to you by Dust 2 Dollars who prides themselves on showing the complete item in high quality pictures along with a detailed description for your consideration. We offer you an “Antique Rifle which requires NO FFL for Transfer”. This is a Marlin - Ballard #3 single shot rifle chambered in .22 caliber with double set triggers with a “Rare” Stevens No. 465 4X scope with number 2 mounts that is 19” long. The receiver is serial numbered 36170 which are matching on the barrel, forearm, butt stock, butt plate and stock lug. That is all that could be seen without taking parts off that I’m not comfortable doing. So it appears to be an all matching numbers gun. The 28 inch octagon barrels finish has turned a patina color with silver areas as shown. There are dings and marks in the flats and edges as you can see. A very nice feature is it has a very fine bore with no issues. Something not found very often on 130 “plus” year old gun. The receiver finish is in the same condition as you can see. The forearm is in very fine condition with marks and dings. The butt stock is the same with two old cracks that are stable. The action is tight and the double set triggers function just fine. The left side of the receiver is marked “MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CT. U.S.A. / PATENTED. FEBRUARY. 9. 1875. / BALLARD’S. PATENT. NOV. 5. 1861”. The scope is marked "PAT.PNDG. / J. STEVENS ARMS & TOOL CO / CHICOPEE FALLS MASS U.S.A. / No 465". The scope has clean and clear optics with no issues and the adjustments work freely as they should. Overall this is a very fine package that was set up long ago. $2,499 This will be shipped fully insured to your FFL UPS Ground for $80 with signature required. The rifle will be shipped in a new foam lined double wall cardboard box that we have manufactured for us so that your gun arrives safe. Payment to be made by USPS Money Order or Cashier’s Check. All firearms come with a 3-day inspection from D2D’s. SOLD Antique: Yes Rifle Caliber: .22 Long Rifle |
