Description:
This is a good example of a Austrian 1849 jaeger musket converted from the tube lock system.  Many were used in European wars and later sold to the US and confederate states for use during the civil war.  The lock is marked 853 and works.  The full 33 inch barrel includes complete front and rear sights and barrel date appears to be 1853.   All metal parts have a dark brown patina and appears to have been painted gold long ago. The bore appears to be approximately 70 caliber and is rifled. The trigger gaurd appears to have regimental markings and the stock has markings also.  The breach is stamped I think Fred Fruwirth but it's hard to read. The gun is complete other than the nipple which is missing.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  Shipping will be actual cost approximately $50 by usps priority mail.
