Description:
This is a fantastic example of a Springfield Armory M1 Garand chambered in 30-06 Springfield. This late post Korean War era M1 Garand was manufactured in 1957 by Springfield Armory and is in excellent condition. This rifle has been through at least one arsenal rebuild in its life. This particular rifle was accepted by the CMP in March of 2021 and was given a "Service" grade . This rifle is comprised of mostly Springfield components with the exception of the "HRA" marked bolt and "BME"marked rear sight adjustment knob. The Parkerizing is in excellent condition across the entirety of the rifle with the various handling/wear marks. The stock is in great condition and shows no signs of cracks, just various handling marks. The stock has the correct "P" proofing mark along the front of the grip and the DOD acceptance stamp along the left side of the stock. The Springfield barrel on this particular rifle was manufactured in March of 1956 and the bore is excellent. The throat of the barrel gauges at a "2+" and the muzzle gauges at a "2+", indicating that the barrel is in "like new"/excellent condition. The action is tight and the rifle is in 100% working order. This rifle would make an outstanding addition to a collection or a beautiful shooter.
