24 inch octagon barrel and full length magazine. Good bore with sharp rifling and some fouling in the pits. Wood is very good with a rifle style buttplate. Overall metal is mostly a gray patina with sharp corners. Original sights. Early 7200 serial range. Crisp action. Scarce gun. Hard to find an octagon 44-40 with antique serial number.
