Description:
Beautiful pair of early Westley Richards Drop locks. These fine lightweight game guns are a great consecutively numbered true pair and made in 1893 are scalloped action boxlocks made with 28" barrels, splinter forends, double triggers, auto ejectors, drop locks, auto safety, double triggers, and straight grip English stocks which terminate with beautiful blued heel and toe plates. These guns are near full coverage scroll engraved as seen in the photos. Stocks appear to be of English walnut and are quite attractive.
Overall the guns are in excellent condition. The #1 gun appears original with barrels having been restored along with the top lever and trigger plate. Stocks are sound and mechanics are excellent. The #2 gun appears original with top lever, barrels and trigger plate having been restored long ago as well. There is a small repair to the toe of the #2 gun which has been professionally taken care of, though still visible. Gun 2 has been sleeved. Both guns are excellent mechanically with bright shiny bores and crisp mechanics. Stocks are sound around the heads and the guns have great balance and feel. The case is in good share with crackling in the leather and rubs/scrapes. Interior is very good.
