Description:
Civil War Inscribed Prescott 32 Cal.Rimfire Revolver. Very Rare,only a few hundred produced in 1862. 4 7/8" barrel. 6 shot. SERIAL NUMBER 4. Doesn't get much lower. Revolver has 97-98% factory original blueing remaining on both barrel and cylinder. Has some minor marks on underside of barrel as seen in pics. Brass frame has gorgeous original patina. Wood grips have all original finish. Hammer has vivid casecolor. Bore is bright and shiny. Action is perfect. Now for thr great part. INSCRIBED "ORDERLY SARGEANT J. C. CLIFFORD CO. B 42nd REGT. M.V.M. PRESENTED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE ADAMS GUARDS OCT.27th 1862". He enlisted in the 42nd Mass 9/13/1862 , a nine month unit. Mustered out 8/20/1863. Mustered in the 1st NH Heavy Artillery on 9/8/1864 as a 1st Lieut. Mustered out on 6/15/1865. This is a very Rare Civil War revolver wiith a great inscription to soldier from Massachusetts.
