This is a 1942 dated, Albion-made revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, and cylinder. The metal retains 80-85% of the wartime Suncorite finish that has flaked to the underlying matte blue, and silvered slightly along the high and exposed edges. The cylinder has the “G77" batch code which is significant due to these being the only bobbed hammer models that retained the single-action lock. Postwar London proofs are also present. The grooved composite grips are in good-very good shape with numerous small handling marks and blemishes throughout, and both the Albion “AM" stamp and flaming bomb unit marking for the Grenadier Guards are present on the brass disk on the right side. This is a fine-near excellent example of a war-dated Enfield, with highly desirable unit marking.
