CIVIL WAR AUSTRIAN AUGUSTIN TUBE LOCK JAGER KAMMERBUSCHE M1849 RIFLE CIRCA 1849-64. 49” overall with 33” .75 caliber multi-groove rifled barrel with mirror bright bore and crisp rifling. Blade front and Long Range two leaf rear sights. Lock plate numbered with "8-51" date(matching) and stamped with Austrian proof to rear of hammer. All original with all the lock parts and lock in working order. Excellent with lovely crisp plum patina on metal and stock in very good condition with old repaired minor hairline at wrist barely visible. Small quantities imported during the Civil War and are very seldom seen for sale having not been converted to accept cap. Strangely enough this one has mint 12 groove rifling right on back to the breech so probably never used.
