Payment Types Accepted: US Postal Money Orders, Personal checks held until clearing, Bank cashier's checks Description: Here is an incredibly rare Whitney Wolverine .22 pistol produced in early 1956. Some are led to believe that the nickel wolverines (lightning) pistol is more rare, being 500 in number, and in 5-digit serial number range, which is technically true. However, these first 900 guns produced, with the best of the alloys used in manufacturing are almost never seen in the marketplace, I've looked hard and found only one, sold more than 10 years ago. These first production guns were numbered 100,001 through 100,968, according to The Whitney Wolverine by Antonio J. Taglienti. The alloys used on these guns was Alcoa #218, later changed to a cheaper #380 alloy, seen on the 5-digit Wolverines. It's been documented that these first 900 were the finest Wolverines produced. This set includes the gun, which shows some edge wear, a few scratches, light thinning in high spots, as well as its original box numbered to the gun. The box also had a hand-inscribed 1958 a name and a town inside. Two of the box edges are torn and taped. The box appears to contain an original sheet of corrosion preventative paper, a brochure which is partiallly torn at the seams, and its shaped insert. Again there are Wolverines that come up fairly regularlly through any given year, including nickel examples. But these nice first 900 are truly hard to find. I can ship this from a C&R to a C&R via UPS, insured, which is included in the price. If you live in a state that requires me to send this gun FROM an FFL to an FFL, (California, perhaps New Jersey, others) there will be an additional charge of $100 for the additional work effort needed to complete the transaction. I will not ship outside the contiguous 48 states. USPS money orders are strongly encouraged. Please Please Please send the signed license with your payment.
