Description:
TAKEDOWN, MODEL 1893 .30-30 OCTAGON RIFLE, #239XXX, MADE 1902. A good and honest rifle that shows fine aged barrel blue, mag tube blue thinned to gray, fine barrel markings, buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar and "shark-fin" shaped blade front sight. The receiver is an uncleaned mottled gray with strong springs and safety notch and some aged blue on the loading gate. Stock and forend show normal light handling with good wood to metal fit. The bore is a bit dark with strong rifling, but not pitted- a good scrubbing with J-B bore paste would probably improve it. The takedown is tight an/d there are typical numerous light dings around the bottom of the receiver/takedown ring where the takedown lever is located. A hard to find takedown with nice appearance.
