Description:
This is a very hard gun to find. It is a French Mle. 1884 Gras-Kropatschek 11mm rifle. Retains an even patina overall showing wear. Markings are clear. Dated 1884. The bolt functions as it should. The cartridge lifter does not automatically go down, there seems to be a lever of some kind, perhaps a single shot adjustment. Whatever it is, we're not sure that it's working right. There are some foreign markings on the right side of the barrel ahead of the rear sight (pictured). Wood shows wear with dings and handling marks as well as some damage towards the buttplate with some wood loss. Wood is solid. The bolt body and barrel numbers are matching, the bolt face is not matching. Missing the cleaning rod from the left side of the stock. Bore has strong sharp rifling with light pitting.
