Description:
Good condition but there are a number of detractors. While the metal looks to be in good shape, there are numerous signs that this rifle has been reblued. If one looks carefully at the metal finish you can see the lines left by a belt sander. Some of the screws also stand out a little too much. Most of the edges has softened and the stamps have lost some definition. To top off the metal flaws, a previous owner had a smith drill extra holes in the side to mount the scope base. The furniture also shows signs of having been refinished. Some areas don't mate well to the metal, leaving some space in places between the two. There has also been a compass of sorts installed into the comb of the stock. The best description for this one might be a shooter grade pre-'64 example.
