Description: Auguste Francotte 12 Gauge built in 1926 with 72cm [28 3/8"] Sk/M solid rib ejector barrels with 2 3/4" chambers and so proved. Single silver front bead. Bores are excellent measuring .729 right and left. Choked .005 on the right and .017 on the left. Minimum wall thickness of .026 on both. Fancy back scalloped reciever with side clip action body and rib extension third bite. Case colored receiver has 50% coverage of scroll engraving with deep relief Acanthus leaves on the fences. Retains 30% original case colors. Double triggers and automatic ejectors that are strong and well timed. Nicely figured European Walnut straight grip stock with vacant stock oval. DAC - 1 1/2" DAH - 2 3/8" Neutral cast. LOP is 14 3/4" over a very nicely done leather covered pad. Ideal game gun weight of 7lb 2oz This is a very nice and all original piece from the golden era of gunmaking by a very noted maker. It remains tight and on face. The barrels ring like a chime. All screws appear to be unturned. The toplever remains right of center. It has been lovingly hunted and well cared for with thinning blue in carry areas.
