The overall length is approx. 48"". The 31.5"" octagon barrel has an excellent bore with strong, bright gain twist rifling. The top flat is marked WARRENTED INCREASE TWIST. There is a fixed notch rear sight that appears to be more modern than the gun. All the metal parts have a smooth brown patina. The lock, hammer, barrel tang, trigger guard, butt plate tang, and patch box have decorative engraving. The nose of the hammer has a missing chip. The nose cap, lower ramrod pipe, trigger guard, butt plate, and patch box are German silver. The ramrod is present. The half tock is very good with crisp checkering at the wrist, no cracks or chips, and light overall wear with a couple of dents on the left flat. A German silver eagle is inlaid in the cheek piece and a blank shield shaped escutcheon is on the bottom behind the trigger guard. The double set trigger action functions correctly. If you collect percussion target rifles, this gain twist large bore rifle would be a good fit for your collection. SOLD Antique: Yes |
