Description:
"Caught-in-port" AK-47 Sporter underfolder made in China by Norinco. This AK-47 Sporter is chambered in 7.62x39mm and features a 16" chrome-lined barrel, threaded muzzle, muzzle brake, underfolding stock, enclosed front sight, and 10 round magazine. Some Norinco rifles are referred to as "Caught-in-port" rifles. Most "Caught-in-port" rifles had the underfolder removed and receiver holes covered, the bayonet lugs milled off, and the threads of the barrel milled off. They also had a tang welded to the rear of the receiver so that a thumbhole stock could be attached. This particular rifle retains its original threaded muzzle but has has the bayonet lug milled off. The rear tang has been removed and an underfolding stock assembly has been re-installed in its original mounting location on the receiver. The action on this AK47S is smooth and the rifle functions 100%. The chrome-lined barrel is in great shape and the rifling is still sharp. The rear of the bolt carrier and bolt lugs show little wear and the rifle appears to be lightly fired. The original finish on the metal components is in excellent condition with the exception of various handling and wear marks. The pistol grip and forend are in excellent condition as well with various handling and wear marks. This rifle has tons of character and would make a superb shooter or a great addition to any AK collection.
