Ruger® Super Redhawk® is an incredibly strong Double-Action Revolver that can take unrelenting punishment from the world's most powerful, heavy recoiling handgun cartridges and keep functioning with the reliability one can depend on in life threatening situations. Over the years it has earned a reputation as the premier handgun for serious big game hunting. The Ruger Super Redhawk is designed with an extended frame that provides extra metal on the top strap, sidewalls, and barrel mounting areas to handle the high pressures of big game loads. To withstand heavy recoil, the triple-locking cylinder is locked into the frame at the front, rear, and bottom so it stays aligned without getting sloppy over time. The extended main frame also has scope mounts machined directly into it, serving as a base to attach the included Ruger scope rings. The rear sight is fully adjustable for windage and elevation, and the ramp front sight is easily seen, while providing minimal interference when drawing the gun from a holster. The angle of the Super Redhawk's peg-style grip frame, and the recoil cushioning Hogue® Tamer® Monogrip®, greatly absorb recoil and allow the shooter to stay on target for follow-up shots, while firing the revolver in double-action mode. The Ruger Redhawk has a smooth double-action trigger pull, and a clean, crisp break in single-action. Stainless steel construction provides corrosion resistance, and low maintenance in the backcountry. As with all Ruger Double-Action Revolvers, the Redhawk features the patented Ruger transfer bar mechanism that provides an unparalleled measure of security against accidental discharge—the revolver can be dropped directly on its hammer and will not fire without the trigger being pulled all the way to the back.
