Description:
The Hudson Manufacturing H9 debuted in 2018 to great fanfare with several new patents. The H9 has a 1911-style trigger and is a striker-fired, 9 mm x 19 Parabellum semi-automatic pistol with subdued yet fetching looks, modern styling and a threaded barrel. It has a low bore axis that doesn't require wrist rotation and channels recoil along this axis straight back into the shooter's hand and helps reduce muzzle flip and mitigates felt recoil. Such a low-bore design accelerates follow-on shots. Since it is striker-fired, in lieu of hammer-fired, the profile is simplified, and the number of parts is decreased by roughly one-third, which, theoretically, makes the gun more reliable. The front and rear sights are black dovetailed Trijicon night sights. The slide itself is gently vaulted over the top while both the front and back of the slide have nice slide cocking serrations that parallel a forward bevel line and the grip's rear. The H9 features ambidextrous slide release levers. In order to combine the 1911-style trigger with the low bore axis, the gun's recoil spring and steel rod are uniquely placed below the muzzle and in front of the trigger guard in a nice deep housing where you'd expect an accessory rail might be. The look is cohesive and integral to the frame's design. It has an integrated accessory rail. It has a medium beavertail and an integral trigger safety, and a short trigger pull and short reset. The magazine release is elongated, while the grip is M1911A1-style, with grip indentations behind the trigger guard. It is flanked by tall and aggressive G10 polymer VZ Grips that are fastened top and bottom. 9mm Parabellum
