Here is a very nice Winchester 1873 made in 1879. The bore is about a 7-8- good rifling, little roughnness, and surprised me at how good it is. There is a set trigger adjustment which I have not tried to adjust. It looks fragile and I wouldn't know what I was doing anyhow. Standard 24" barrel. octagon. Look like original Winchester sights to me. 4 piece cleaning rod in the butt stock that looks original to the rifle. Most of the varnish and bluing is intact but the blue has turned dark and the varnish has a few dings. Screwheads in good shape. Lettering is all there though that on the barrel is getting light. Nice smooth metal with no rust or pitting.
Overall a very sound and attractive First Model. Shipping and insurance will be $100 because of value. No paperwork in most states as it is definetly an antique. Layaway available..
