Description:
Extensively Kornbrath engraved R.G. [Bob] Owen Springfield in 30-06 with a 24" barrel with ramp front sight, barrel attached swivel stud, and integral quarter rib with three folding leaves. Bore is excellent. Springfield receiver with Lyman 48 receiver peep sight. The rear receiver ring inletted for the slide. Kornbrath engraved all steel Griffin & Howe double lever side mount with 7/8" rings and windage adjustment. Stocked in European Walnut with a double beaded pancake cheekpiece, engraved steel pistol grip cap, and bone forend tip. Point pattern checkering. Floorplate and trigger guard are extensively Kornbrath engraved with a gold inlayed bear on the floorplate and gold initials on the trigger guard. LOP is 13 1/2" to engraved and checkered trap buttplate. 8lb 7oz with rings and sidemount.
This is a wonderful piece from one of America's most respected early 20th century gunmakers and with extensive engraving by Rudolph Kornbrath, the most respected engraver of that time period. This is timeless styling by two early masters. It is unmolested and shows only careful use.
