Colt Official Police 38Sp 6" barrel,marked Heavy Barrel,serial #685368,Colt factory letter shows this gun was shipped to the Central Maine Power Company in the state capital Augusta,Maine on December 13th,1941,6 days after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.There have been other Colts documented during the early days of WWII that were shipped to Power Companies,Water Districts and other critical utilities.As new condition,appears unfired with the factory letter.
