.31 cal, 5-shot Factory Engraved Manhattan Pocket Revolver with 4" Barrel. Frame and cylinder are factory engraved - serial number 749 with a two line barrel address:
"Manhattan Firearms"
"Manufg. Co. New York"
early 1858 - Jan. 30, 1860. This is an example of a series 1 Pocket Model with the Dec. 27, 1859 patient date stamped on the underside of the frame and the two line New York address stamped on the top barrel flat. The frame has a scroll and punch dot engraving with wedges of the engraving behind the hammer and on the lower section of the back strap. The stagecoach scene is engraved on the 5-shot cylinder. The barrel is numbered to the gun. Functionally good - but not perfect. Purchased several years ago from the Union Drummer Boy in Gettysburg for $975 - need to sell - $465 and FREE SHIPPING. Holster also included.
