The item for sale is a Glen Nelson Springfield Armory M1A "Super Match" rifle with a 4 digit serial number. The attached letter from Springfield Armory Inc. authenticates this as a Glen Nelson build shipped May, 1978. No M1A collection can be complete without a Glen Nelson precision MIA. Springfield Armory was sold to Bob Reese in 1974 and moved from Texas to Illinllois. Master Sergeant Nelson retired from the Army in 1975. He had been the Non-Commissioned Officer in charge of the ATU custom gun shop at Fort Benning and was hired by Bob Reese to build all Springfield Armory competition / precision rifles. Glen Nelson has passed away but left a lasting legacy. The rifle was aquired from the family that originally purchased the M1A from Springfield. It is still in the original condition as purchased from Springfield Armory and in excellent condition. The rifle will be provided with three magazines (each with different capacity). We will require a copy of a FFL prior to shipping. Please Include $45 to cover insurance and shipping.
