D Moore's Patent Firearms Co. Belt Revolver - Seven Shooter - serial # 111 - this is the 7 shot Moore Cartridge Belt Revolver with desirable 5" octagonal barrel. .32 Rimfire caliber. Fully functional - crisp and tight mechanically. Nice gold tones on the engraved scrolls. Pheasant scene on the left side plate. Has ORIGINAL ejector rod and spring. One small chip on the lower left wooden grip. Otherwise grips are really nice. This is one of about 3400 that were turned over to Smith & Wesson after Moore lost its patent battle with them. As such it is marked "MANFD FOR SMITH & WESSON BY MOORE'S PAT. FIREARMS CO." on the top of the barrel. Typically these revolvers were purchased by Union Officers and Enlisted men. Production of these were from 1861-1863.
