Description:
Winchester Model 1894 lever action short rifle, not carbine, chambered in .38-55, dated to 1901. SN 224777. Note this model has no barrel band and has 22 inch round barrel with full length magazine. This rifle features the classic and iconic Winchester 1894 lever action, designed by John Browning and has established itself as the most popular sporting rifle in the world. This particular rifle finish has faded to a browinsh gray patina, with solid walnut furniture. The rifle has small areas of wear and signs of age, as shown in the photos. The action is smooth and tight, hammer and trigger are fully operable The bore has good riflings with some dark spots in groove areas.
Original sights. Wood shows some minor handling mars but still retains a some amount of original finish. Rifle style buttplate. Barrel and mag have pluming to a brownish gray color. Fine markings. Sharp corners.
