Rare 20ga L.C. Smith Crown Grade made on a Featherweight Frame in 1924 with original 26" steel barrels, original Beavertail Forend (earlier shorter version as noted in Houchins Book) Hunter One Sinlge Selective Trigger, Auto ejectors, Straight grip buttstock which terminates with the original leather faced pad. Beautiful highly figured stocks as seen in the photos. The gun is engraved in relief game scenes on the sides with gold crown on top lever and gold inald "S" in front of safety. Floral scroll pattern on bottom of frame.
Overall, this rare gun remains in excellent original condition with more than 98% original barrel blue, 80%++ original case colors with some toning at carry point on bottom, and nearly all of the original stock finish with only minor handling marks. Pad appears original and leather facing does show some age. Bores are brilliant and shiny and mechanics are crisp throughout.
With just 145 Crown Grades made in 20ga, this is a rare gun with just 48 made with beavertail forends. This gun is an absolute joy to handle and hold and it mounts so comfortably that it must be seen and shot to be appreciated in full. This gun is offered at $24,500 plus shipping to your FFL.
