SOLD These rugged muskets were made for the African Native trade as indigenous peoples were not allowed to have center fire rifled guns under colonial powers. Often Belgium gun makers had many left over parts from various military contracts dating into the 19th century. So this fine gun has parts from the 19th and 20th century, and appears to have not been issued. Many were later purchased by Stoeger, and sold by them, as this one is marked on the top and sold through one of their catalogs. The half round. octagonal 1 1/18" outside diameter barrel with a bore of .869 smooth bore which is clean. Northern Eurropean wood is very clean with no issues, and comes with a steel ram-rod. Action works well, and has the target type steel buttplate. A rugged heavy gun that is built very well, and not commonly found.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
