Description:
Serial #7042, .442 CF, 2 3/8" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a single small spot of pitting about halfway down. This is a very handsome revolver that has retained 90-95% of the original bright, commercial blue, with the balance flaked to a smooth, plum-brown patina. The topstrap is marked: "E.M REILLY & CO. / 515 OXFORD ST. LONDON"; and the Webley "Winged Bullet" trademark is present on the left side. The hammer and trigger still have the original armory bright finish, and the checkered walnut grip has a few minor handling marks, and some flattening of the points. The lock-up is tight, and the action functions flawlessly. This very revolver is described and illustrated on pg. 37 of "Webley Solid Frame Revolvers – Models RIC, MP, and No. 5" by Black, Davis, and Michaud (2010). This is a fine example of a rare, Pre-RIC revolver, in excellent overall condition, and was also published in a respected reference. Antique
