Description:
Serial #10785, .455/.476, 6" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a great looking, very early production revolver (only 479 numbers higher than the earliest known example) that retains 95-97% of a retailer reapplied tropical nickel finish that has scattered minor handling marks, and a single area of flaked pitting on the right side of the frame below the hammer. The topstrap has standard Webley "'WG' ARMY MODEL" marking with the Webley & Scott "Winged Bullet" on the lower left side of the frame, and no retailer marking on the barrel rib. The hammer, trigger, and cylinder retention stirrup have some traces of mild freckling, as well as a small spot of brown pitting on the left side of the cylinder stirrup. The checkered walnut grips are in very good shape with some scattered bruises and flattened points under an added varnish finish. The lock-up is still solid and tight, and the action functions flawlessly. This is a lovely example of a desirable WG Army Model that has an exceptionally high amount of nickel finish remaining. It rates fine-near excellent overall, and would be a great addition to any collection of fine British firearms.
