This is a splendid looking, all matching rifle that retains 97-98% of the original blue finish on the barrel, and the original armory bright finish on the receiver and matching bolt. There is some further mild silvering on the heel of the buttplate, and at the sides of the muzzle as well. The trigger, rear sight slider and spring, bolt stop, floorplate release and screw heads retain most of their original brilliant fire blue as well. The bolt, bayonet lug (with typical modified rail), and matching numbered cleaning rod are bright. All of the metal markings, including the Argentine crest, are crisp and clear. The walnut stock rates fine, but does have some scattered handling marks and blemishes, especially on the comb of the butt where there is a series of linear checks in the wood, and at the toe where there are some wear marks and bruises. The Argentine cartouches are crisp and clear. The rifle is also accompanied by the original, matching numbered metal muzzle-cover. This is a fantastic example of a desirable, non-import marked, Argentine Model 1909 rifle, with a rarely seen numbered muzzle cover, and rates excellent overall.
