Description:
This is an original Civil War US Military M1861 Rifled Musket made by the US Springfield Armory in 1862. It is in original, near pristine condition. Stock and forearm furniture are in outstanding condition and has original inspectors cartouches and tiny sub-inspectors mark untouched. The metal may or may not have been lightly cleaned to bright at some point. There are a few thinly oxidized brown patina patches starting to develop. Rifle bore is very clean with well defined sharp rifling intact.. Action, timing and trigger are tight and function perfectly. As with any antique firearm, it needs to be checked out by a qualified gunsmith if you intend to fire it. Firearm is a pre-1899 antique and will ship directly to the buyer.
