Description:
This is a flat-mint and unfired Star Megastar .45 ACP pistol complete with it's original box, paperwork, tools, and shipping bag. The Star Megastar is essentially a jumbo-sized version of the Firestar model chambered in .45 ACP or 10mm with a double-stack high-capacity magazine. Manufactured between 1991 and 1994 and imported by Interarms into the United States, only a relatively small number of these pistols made it in before the model was discontinued. The DA/SA semi-auto Star Megastar featured all-steel construction, a blued or "Starvel" factory finish, a blued 4.6" inch barrel with a polished chamber area, a slide-mounted ambi safety, a reversible magazine release, a checkered front and rear gripstrap, 3-dot combat-style fixed sights, checkered black plastic grips, a heel-mounted lanyard loop, a ring-style exposed hammer, a wide and smooth combat-style trigger, and either a 12-round(.45 ACP) or 14-round(10mm) double stack magazine. The heavy-duty Megastar weighed in at 47.6 ounces unloaded. This particular example is chambered in .45 ACP and is finished with Star's "Starvel" finish, a satin electroless nickel. As mentioned earlier, it is in pristine like-new and unfired condition. It was bought by the original owner sometime between 1991 and 1994 and was put up into storage until now, never once fired or carried. This Megastar still has the factory warning hangtag on it. The original Starvel finish rates 99.9% with no visible wear or handling marks of any kind. The bore is mirror-bright and perfect, and the polished exterior of the chamber is pristine and bright. The original factory blue finish on the remainder of the barrel, the steel guide rod, the iron sights, and the ambidextrous safety is also like-new and minty. All of the factory markings are sharp and clean, and the checkering on the front of the triggerguard and front and rear grips straps is perfect. The checkered black plastic grips are in mint condition with crisp checkering and zero visible wear or marring. Both grip panels are perfectly fit to the gun and tight to the frame with no wiggle. The action on this Megastar is slick and smooth, and the slide-to-frame fitment is superb. All of the controls on this pistol are in like-new, perfect working order. This Star pistol looks like it left the factory yesterday rather than almost 30 years ago! As mentioned before, this pistol comes complete with everything it shipped from the factory with, all of which is just as perfect as the pistol itself. Whether you are a dedicated Star collector or you just have been looking for a neat and scarce pistol to add to your collection as an investment, this Star Megastar would be an excellent choice. There can't be more than a handful of unfired and mint examples like this one in the whole United States, and you certainly could never upgrade from this one in any way.
