Description:
Sold !!

This  **National Postal Meter M-1 Carbine.30 Cal was mfg abt 6/43*. The guns bluing is a medium dark parkerizing throughout. It has all of the correct parts  for the WW II war period. The barrel is a Buffalo Arms (11-43) w/Flaming Bomb. The bore is shiney w/a distinct rifling and measures  "1" . The Buttstock is a dark Walnut W/a faint cartouche on it's Right Side is says "NPM/FJA" framed iby a very faint square.The sling well has a lightly stamped "TN".
Thee are no cracks, dings or noticable markings. The matching handguard is a 2 - hole wT2 w/"TN" on the underside. The action is normal.** Also this particular NPM has a (Rare to me) "Union Switch Receiver".
* I reference these publications for my info: R. C. Larson's M-1 Carbine 2nd Edition, US M-1 Carbine 7th Edition, & Harrison's M1 Carb III. In Larson's book he
mention's that because NPM out sourced most of their parts Serialed Numbers were often mixed up and as a result they wouldn't come off the production line in numerical order..There are many mixed parts as a result of these production schedules. (THE SLING, OILER AND MAGAZINE W/RUBBER CUP ARE FOR PRESENTATION ONLY AND NOT INCLUDED). This NPM to me is an NRA Very Good to excellent and would make both an Excellent Collectible & range firearm.
The following Parts are inventoried to the NPM;
Receiver - "U" (Union Switch & Signal) w/one dismount notch, square mill cut, T3 retaining lug, Rear Sight - T3 W/I/R/C/C/7160060, Barrel - Buffalo Arms dated
11/43 w/Flaming Bomb,, Front Sight - T2 UM, , Gas Piston - T2, Bolt - T2 "UN", Firing Pin - T3 _ "NN", Extractor - T3 UM, Ext Plunger -T3, Ejector - T2, Trig Hsg - T1 Mkd N16", Trigger - T2 "SN", Sear - T2 "LN", Hammer - T3 "HI", Safety - T3 - UM, Mag Catch - T2 "SN", Oper Slide - T4 "PI", Stock - Low Wood w/Oval Sling Cut, "TN" in Sling Well and cartouche on Right Side w/"NPM/FLA" in Square imprint., Hand Guard - T2 w/"TN' on the underside, Recoil Plate - T3 w/"PN", Recoil Plate Screw - T2, Barrel Band - T2 UM, Butt Plate - NPM..
