Description:
This 1860’s western european pinfire 12mm revolver has been modified to also fire as a centerfire revolver. The revolver is possibly an arsenal rework like the 1865/97 Danish artillery pinfires. This one has a 4 ¾” barrel and is 10” overall. The revolver works in DA only and functions correctly. There is a serial number stamped on the upper right side of the barrel assembly along with a “V” proofmark at the barrel assembly to frame assembly juncture. There is a maker name on the upper left barrel assembly but I cannot make it out 100%. Overall the revolver is in good shape. It possibly has been cleaned as the original scroll work is light. The revolver has a uniform grayish brown patina. The ejector rod is a replacement that will not stay locked in position. There is a similar German conversion revolver shown on page 192 of the Pinfire Book by Curtis. Again, I am speculating that it is an arsenal rework but it was one way to keep serviceable revolvers in use for a longer length of time. Shipping is $25 for insured priority mail.
