Description:
This is an exceptionally clean and all-original Smith & Wesson Model 640-1 Centennial .357 Magnum revolver complete with the original box, paperwork, and even the anti-rust shipping paper.  This beautiful Model 640-1 was built new in 1995 and is a pre-lock gun.  Bought new by the original owner in 1995, this Smith was taken to the range one time for test-firing and has spent it's entire life in storage ever since.  It has never been carried or even handled since 1995 until now.  The double-action only .357 Magnum S&W Model 640-1 is a compact stainless-steel J-frame hammerless revolver with a 2" inch barrel, a 5-shot fluted cylinder, fixed iron sights, and checkered black rubber finger groove factory grips.  First introduced in 1991 and designed as a concealed carry/self defense revolver, the 640 Centennial quickly proved to be a superb weapon that was exceptionally reliable, durable, well-made, accurate, and very powerful.  The 640 remains a very popular weapon today more than 30 years later.  As mentioned earlier, this particular example is in exceptional condition inside and out.  The stainless steel is bright, clean, and free from any visible wear or handling marks outside of an extremely faint drag-line around the cylinder.  All of the factory markings are crisp and clean, and all of the screws in the gun have perfect slots.  The sideplate has never been off of this gun since leaving the factory.  The bore in the 2" inch barrel is mirror-bright and perfect, with sharp rifling and zero visible imperfections or wear.  The five chambers of the cylinder are equally as perfect.  The front face of the cylinder is free from any flash halos and the rear action star on the cylinder shows ZERO wear.  The factory case-colored trigger looks like-new as well with bright colors with no fading or wear.  The factory black rubber grips on this Centennial are perfect, free from any wear, chunking, rips, or repairs.  The double-action in this Smith is extremely smooth and precise, with no grittiness or stacking.  The lock-up of the cylinder is perfectly tight with no wiggle and all of the controls on this Model 640-1 are in perfect working order.  This stainless steel Centennial should function 100% just like the day it left the factory 26 years ago.  This S&W 640-1 comes 100% complete with everything it shipped from the factory with, all of which is just as pristine as the gun itself.  If you have been looking for a pre-lock Smith & Wesson Model 640 Centennial here is your chance to get one of the best we have had in years.  You could not upgrade from this J-frame .357 Magnum revolver in any respect!
