Description:
From the Jeff Harris collection is this fine left hand cap lock conversion long rifle in .54 caliber.
It has a 46" tapered and flared barrel. 1" at the breech and 15/16" at the muzzle. It has been browned.
Overall length of the rifle is 62 7/8". Length of pull is 14", Drop at the heel is 2 1/2". 3/8" LH cast off built into the stock.
The rifle weighs 6.8 lbs. All furniture is brass. The stock is highly figured maple with a deep brown color.
The Siler convreson cap lock has been left in the white. Ignition is by drum and nipple. This rifle could easily be converted to flintlock if desired. Double set, double lever triggers allow the rifle to be fired with the triigers set or not.
The carving is top notch and the engraving is second to none. The bore is bright. It appears the rifle has seen very little use.
The patchbox lid is proud of its sides; most likely due to wood shrinkage; but it still functions fine.
