Payment Types Accepted: M/C, VISA, American Express and Discover Description: "An extremely nice 1913 Patton Saber dated 1913, with a smooth finished canvas covered scabbard. The sword is the standard Springfield made 1913, stamped, “SA" (for Springfield Arsenal) with an Ordnance flaming bomb, over “1913." On the reverse side is “US" over serial number 5537.The scabbard is interesting in that it is a completely original scabbard, but the scabbard body is smooth varnished canvas, rather than the usual rougher webbing. It also has visible stitching. It appears to be completely original, as the metal of the scabbard mounts is correctly fitted over the cloth. The scabbard originally had a tent peg, and there is still a hole for drainage. Dimensions: The sword is 44 inches long overall, with a 35.25 inch long blade. Very good and better condition overall. There are some tiny nicks along the edges of the blade. They are barely noticeable. The blade is otherwise bright and clean. There is a screw hole in the upper part of the scabbard throat that appears to be original. There is a small cut to the canvas of the scabbard just below the throat. There are some flakes to the black finish of the basket guard. SOLD |
