Description:
Rare Colt Ainsworth SAA U.S. Cavalry .45 revolver with letter of authenticity from John Kopec. Manufactured in 1874 during the 2nd year of production. All matching number gun with a four digit serial number along with multiple Ainsworth markings. Extremely rare revolver in any condition. This one does function with a fairly tight lock up and has all four Colt clicks. Overall antique condition has a rating of fair to good from Flayderman's guide to Antique American Firearms. This is an original Colt Cavalry revolver and not a Colt artillery model and is a very collectible early U.S. Cavalry revolver. Blue Book Values Guide has listed the Ainsworth SAA Colt in the five figure range even when in 10% antique condition. We have listed this early four digit Colt SAA at a much lower price since an early replacement was made on the ejector. (see Kopec LOA). Great entry level U.S. Cavalry collectible. Price includes insured shipping within the USA.
